Nurse Practitioner
The Nurse Practitioner is a Registered Nurse who has received 3 years additional University education. She is able to assess, diagnose and treat patients. When necessary, and appropriate, she will prescribe medication.
Many of the problems dealt with by the Nurse Practitioner may be perceived by patients as requiring a doctor’s input. This may well still be the case in other practices. We will not ask you to see the Nurse Practitioner unless we feel it appropriate. The more information you give when arranging appointments the better.
The Nurse Practitioner can also provide health education to patients enabling individuals to better manage their health or condition.
