Practice Nurses
The Strathcairn Practice Nurses consist of a Senior Practice Nurse plus two Part-time Practice Nurses. They are all Registered Nurses who have undergone extra training to work in Primary Care and can offer appointments for many conditions previously considered to be the remit of doctors. They have time to provide education to patients, which can enable individuals to better manage their health or condition.

Senior Practice Nurse
Our Senior Practice Nurse can perform all of the above PLUS:
- Asthma / COPD management
- Diabetes management
- Contraceptive advice on all methods including prescribing
- Prescribing of medicines (when appropriate)
